Item Description

It's very difficult to find specimens from the Little Three Mine on the market these days, as specimens have not been found in decades. This piece is a nice small cabinet association from this classic locality. It features a few sharp, lustrous, gemmy, slightly smoky colored crystals of Quartz measuring up to 6.6 cm which are sitting on "rosettes" of bladed Albite (var: "Cleavelandite") with minor Muscovite. If you look on the back of the piece, there is a bit of attached orange Spessartine and black Schorl, a sure sing that it's from the Little Three. The piece is in good shape all around and looks great from a few angles. From the worldwide collection of noted Idaho collector Geary Murdock. Among other accomplishments, Geary was responsible for discovering some of the finest gem grade deep blue Aquamarine crystals in the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho - which remain arguably the finest Aquamarines from any North American locality. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/36634006/geary-jack-murdock Valued at $900 in the collection.
