Item Description

There are several well-known Titanite producing localities in Pakistan, but Arondu is one of the lesser known. In recent years, this area has produced some top quality crystals of the species, especially some killer twins. It should be noted that these are "Alpine-type" Titanite crystals, and sometimes dead ringers for their true Alpine counterparts from Austria, Italy or Switzerland. This specimen features a few notably compressed, broad, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, beautiful green color crystals of Titanite measuring up to 3.1 sitting on a thin layer of schist matrix. The habit and style of these crystals is atypical for the locality, and really would make a nice addition to any Pakistani mineral collection or a suite of metamorphic minerals. These pieces are some of the most difficult to obtain from Pakistan, especially these days.
