Emerald on matrix (ex Rolando Gioia Collection)

Item Description

A good matrix specimen of featuring a rich green Emerald crystal on matrix from this area in northeast Brazil. The crystal is not 100% complete, as it appears to have been separated in the pocket, but it does have decent overall luster with sharp faces and textbook hexagonal prismatic form. It's somewhat translucent when backlit, but outside of Colombia, there aren't many localities where one can find good crystals of rich green Emerald from South America. The crystal measures 2.0 cm long, and is well-isolated and aesthetically sitting on matrix, which is not common for this material.
