Item Description

A classic Topaz specimen from the famous Thomas Range in Utah. Aside from Red Beryl, this is one of the most sought after and recognizable minerals from the area. A predominant, GEM quality, sherry colored Topaz with a few smaller accessory crystals and a little bit of attached rhyolite matrix comprises this attractive large thumbnail / toenail specimen. The Topaz crystal has incredibly sharp, highly lustrous faces with the classic modifications along the termination. A beautiful piece of this classic material from the western United States. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#323). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
