Malachite on Shattuckite

Item Description

A now classic example of prismatic, rich emerald green colored Malachite sitting on a "velvety" plate of blue Shattuckite from the famous copper producing region in the Kaokoveld. The piece is essentially a "crust" of Shattuckite that is completely filled with with "needles" of Malachite, and there is no attached matrix, but it's still sturdy and beautifully crystallized. Shattuckite is not found in well-crystallized specimens, and the Namibian material is among the best and most well known Shattuckites in the world.
