Item Description

When it comes to Aquamarine, Pakistan is the most productive country for specimens in the last 30 years. Some of the very finest quality Aquamarine specimens come from the various pegmatites in the Pakistani Himalayas, including the pieces from the famous Shigar region. This area has produced some of the most amazing Aquamarine specimens in history. This piece a sharp, glassy, GEM / gemmy, soft blue color, hexagonal, doubly-terminated, prismatic crystal of Aquamarine with minor crystals of pale pink Apatite (yellow fluorescence) white Albite and silvery Muscovite. I can see some small black inclusions of an unknown mineral (probably Schorl or Rutile) within the Aqua. The piece is in good shape, despite a few small imperfections. A very attractive, good quality gem crystal display specimen from this famous Pakistani pegmatite district. Weigh is 8.58 grams.
