Cobaltoan Calcite

Item Description

A wonderful small cabinet specimen of flashy purplish-pink crystals of the very desirable cobaltoan variety of Calcite. One of the most classic localities for the material, which has produced arguably some of the best specimens in the world. Great condition on the display side, save the periphery where it was removed from the pocket wall. Some of the crystals have that glowing color and are quite gemmy, while others are a light pink (caused by inclusions?) and nearly opaque. The largest crystal measures 8 mm long, and the vast majority of the crystals are damage free. Valued in the inventory at $1,750, based upon size, quality and overall appeal.
