Item Description

Mimetite from Tsumeb is one of the most classic, desirable and difficult species to obtain in fine specimens. This piece features sharp, rather lustrous, gemmy/translucent, prismatic, beautiful yellow color Mimetite crystals measuring up to 1.7 cm aesthetically sitting on matrix. A very attractive thumbnail specimen, and great quality for the material, with wonderful aesthetics. Tsumeb specimens are rising in value by the minute it seems, and pieces like this are always in demand these days. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9117). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
