Item Description

This locality has produced some of the most distinctive and signature specimens from China. The best of the Scheelites are incredible and world class for what they are. This particular piece features distinctive, sharp, lustrous, gemmy to translucent, light golden orange color, pseudo-octahedral crystals of Scheelite measuring up to 2.2 cm. The color and luster are very good, and when backlit, crystals show a lovely color. Additionally you can see the piece is covered by twinned, glistening, jet-black crystals of Cassiterite, which is an uncommon association for Scheelite around the world. The matrix is a bed of silvery bladed Muscovite crystals. A great quality display specimen from this unique locality. The only real damage I can see on the back / periphery of the specimen where it was removed from the pocket wall. Valued at $1,000.
