Item Description

The various ore bodies in Peru have produced some of the finest crystallized examples of various common sulfides in the world. These specimens were all the rage a few decades ago, and should still be appreciated by collectors despite their drop in in popularity. This attractive display specimen features sharp, lustrous, well-formed, silvery colored tetrahedra of Tetrahedrite measuring up to 9 mm associated with Quartz matrix. The piece has some nicks here and there, but looks better in person, so don't pass this one up if you collect sulfides or association pieces. From the collection of Rolando Gioia (a contributor to new definitive book on Brazilian minerals: "Minerais e Pedras Preciosas do Brasil").
