Item Description

When it comes to Aquamarine, Pakistan is the most productive country for specimens in the last 20 years. Some of the very finest quality Aquamarine specimens come from the various pegmatites in the Pakistani Himalayas, especially the pieces from around Shigar. This locality has produced some of the most exciting Aquamarine specimens in recent years. This piece features a doubly-terminated group of fine quality, highly lustrous, sharp, GEM/gemmy, lustrous, beautiful blue color prismatic hexagonal crystals of Aquamarine measuring 5.3 cm long aesthetically flaring off crystallized white Albite with minor accenting black Schorl Tourmaline. A fantastic gem crystal display specimen with excellent form and aesthetics from this most prestigious of Pakistani pegmatite localities. The Aquas have a few tiny superficial imperfections, but the overall quality combined with the excellent displayablity make it a great overall cabinet piece from this classic locality. The piece can be displayed from a few angles, and if you think about how difficult it is to find good matrix display pieces of Aquamarine around the world, this is a great specimen for any collector. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock, whose label had it priced at $6,200 (nearly 10 years ago), so it's almost certainly worth more today!
