Item Description

A cool old time Fluorite specimen from Stolberg featuring sharp, well-formed, lustrous, soft golden colored cubic crystals measuring up to 1.3 cm which have overgrown thin layers of drusy Quartz with minor matrix. The piece shows an interesting fluorescence under UV light. The piece is in fairly good shape, though some of the Fluorites are contacted. The crystals remind me somewhat of the specimens from Clay Center, Ohio though the color is not quite the same. An odd specimen for anybody who collects worldwide Fluorites or minerals of Germany! Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10746) with a label from Eugene and Sharon Cisneros of Mineralogical Research Company. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
