Item Description

Phillipsite is a relatively rare zeolite species that is not often found in fine crystallized specimens. The species Phillipsite no longer exists, as it has been split into a few new species, i.e., Phillipsite-Ca, Phillipsite-K and Phillipsite-Na. This piece would been to be properly anaylzed to determine its true identity, so we're just leaving it labeled as Phllipsite. Several sharp, well-formed, lustrous, white monoclinic crystals measuring up to 4 mm on volcanic rock matrix. Good quality up close and hard to find on the market from Vogelsberg. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#11617). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
