Item Description

A large, iconic, sharp, lustrous, splendent, metallic, soft golden color pyritohedron of Pyrite off matrix from the famous Spruce Claim in King County. This locality has produced some of the most iconic Pyrite specimens from North America, but rarely are the crystals are large as this one. Now the crystal is not 100% complete, as it's contacted on the base, but it's in amazingly good condition on the top / display side, with only the slightly bit of edge wear that I only saw with a loupe. The faces are smooth and brilliant and the luster is certainly better than many I've seen. A hefty and impressive example of this classic and sought after material. The piece comes with a label from Bob Jackson Minerals that erroneously mentions the piece is associated with Quartz, and was found in 2010 at the Canada Wolf Pocket.
