Item Description

A classic specimen of the most famous Rhodochrosites in the world. The Sweet Home Mine is one of the most iconic localities extant due to its production of the finest quality red rhombic Rhodochrosite out there. This piece is from the mining done by Collector's Edge featuring a 3.1 cm, predominant, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, reddish-pink rhomb of Rhodochrosite associated with white "needle" Quartz and minor sulfides (Sphalerite, Tetrahedrite and Chalcopyrite). A couple accessory Rhodocrosite crystals make for a nice touch. The main rhomb has a "rub" on the lower edge, that I don't consider actual damage, but an irregular growth where it might have grown against the pocket wall or another Rhodochrosite crystals. I don't have to tell you that the value of these specimens keeps rising, and pieces like this are becoming harder to find on the market. Valued at $2,250 in the inventory.
