Item Description

Lustrous, white, translucent Tremolite blades can be seen on all sides on this excellent near full cabinet specimen from this fairly obscure Austrian valley better known for its Magnetite, Rutile and Peridot crystals. We have only seen a few of these over the years, and this is certainly a very rich and eye-catching example of this rare material. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#8101) with an couple old handwritten labels from an unknown collector, plus an additional typed reference label. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
