Item Description

Bottinoite is a very are nickel antimony hydroxide that is found in less than 20 localities in the world. The species was named in 1992 after the type locality, the Bottino Mine in Italy. Specimens from the Dornberg Mine in Germany are some of the most iconic examples of the species extant. This attractive specimen features beautiful blue-green colored Bottinoite which are associated with soft golden-yellow colored rhombic Dolomite and white Quartz. We have photographed the Bottinoites with a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
