Item Description

A rarely seen example of the Feldspar species Sanidine from the type locality in Germany. The piece features a few sharp, well-formed, beige colored monoclinic crystal measuring up to 3.6 cm in trachyte matrix. If you collect worldwide feldspars, or German minerals in general, this is a must have as one rarely finds such a showy and balanced example of Sanidine from Drachenfels on the market these days. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6507). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
