Item Description

Mount Saint-Hilaire is one of the world's most significant localities, and produces many "best in the world" specimens and very distinctive looking species. Even common species like Rhodochrosite are notably distinctive from this incredible locality. This piece features sharp, well-formed, lustrous, GEMMY, trigonal red crystals of Rhodochrosite measuring up to 1.0 cm across associated with black Aegirine crystals. A cool association specimen, and really fun to view under up close. Do not miss out on this one, I'm told that collecting at the quarry is now restricted by new ownership, so specimens will not be as easy to obtain as they have been for years.
