Item Description

A gorgeous old-time specimen of the very hard to find "Wood Tin" Cassiterites from the famous locality at Poopo where the world's finest specimens of Cylindrite are found. This piece features layered, semi-spherical / botyroidal "bands" of pinkish-tan and grey-black Cassiterite in a solid mass free of matrix. I've never seen a piece of "Wood Tin" from this locality before, so if you collect Cassiterite, don't miss out on this attractive and elusive specimen from this historic locality. Classic material from the collection of Paul A. Lowe.
