Item Description

A really attractive and interesting specimen from Brumado featuring classic compressed twinned crystals of soft golden color Dolomite with selective alternating glistening clarity and matte luster. Minor attached colorless Magnesite can be seen on the reverse side. Great quality from the standpoint of the Dolomite, as the species is rarely seen in such well-formed twins, let alone GEMMY crystals like this. Most of the crystals are in excellent shape, and it's nearly crystallized all the way around, so there isn't any significant damage. This is good quality twinned Dolomite, and the best of these pieces are some of the biggest and gemmiest twinned specimens from any world locality. The largest Dolomite measures 1.6 cm across. From the collection of Rolando Gioia (a contributor to new definitive book on Brazilian minerals: "Minerais e Pedras Preciosas do Brasil").
