Item Description

This is a superb, nearly 7-cm-long glowing green spear of Tourmaline, impaling a thick slightly smoky colored Quartz crystal. The color is a perfect saturation of green with a hint of blue, and not too dark or too pastel. The Tourmaline diverges into multiple cityscape terminations after emerging through the quartz. THere is actually a bit of Quartz growing on the front and the back of the Tourmaline, enveloping it beautifully. The effect is quite a geometric contrast to the simple prism on the Quartz termination. The multiple terminations of the Tourmaline show beautiful definition and separation, and aren't jumbled together like many from Afghanistan. They are are in fact pristine and undamaged, and complete all around. Weighs 233 grams. The piece displays beautifully on the accompanying free lucite base as you can see from the photo. A gorgeous and hard to find MATRIX specimen from Mawi. The piece has NO REPAIRS and is nearly completely undamaged, save the base where it was removed from the pocket. A gorgeous and eye-catching specimen of this desirable and now classic matrix. Fine quality, un-repaired, matrix Tourmalines are difficult to find from any locality, and this one is certainly a high quality specimen, and visually striking. Valued in our inventory at $7,500.
