Item Description

Panasqueira is one of the more classic "modern" European localities. It has produced some amazing specimens for decades. It is certainly one of the most distinctive localities in the world and it has yielded some amazing Apatite specimens. This piece features several excellent quality, sharp, lustrous, translucent, hexagonal, beautifu green color, thick, tabular, hexagonal Apatite crystals which are associated with minor tan Muscovite and Quartz, but if you look closely, there are a few micro, acicular, golden-brown Tourmaline crystals on the piece, which is a rare association from this locality. The piece is in great shape on the display side and it's a very attractive specimen from this well-known mining district. The piece can be displayed from a few angles, and these specimens are simply not seen on the market these days. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#7845). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
