Description:A wonderful specimen featuring several, sharp, GEM / gemmy, blue to lilac "phantom" cubes of Fluorite from this famous locality in Spain. The largest Fluorite crystal measures 4.2 cm on edge. Some minor damage in a few spots, but it's SO gemmy and lustrous, I can forgive it. Some of the crystals show beautiful internal "phantoms" when backlit, and the piece does a lovely color change from a fine blue hue in sunlight to a lilac color in indoor lighting. According to mindat.org, "During December of 2001 in the La Collada area of Asturias, Spain, a series of pockets of Fluorite was found. Physically they were found very close to another old find in the "El Reguerín" area, but luckily the color of these specimens is better than those from the previous find. More intense, with a spectacular color change from sky blue to mauve depending the kind of light. Their luster is better too. As is quite common in the La Collada area these specimens show naturally modified corners." A very attractive Fluorite specimen from this well known Fluorite producing district. This piece was valued at $1,750 in the inventory.
