Item Description

A very good quality and certainly hard to find specimen of Pyromorphite from the Mexico Mine in Roughton Gill. These specimens can often feature small, sometimes pale and non-descript "needles" of Pyromorphite of an unpleasing color, but this piece is very striking. It features resinous, beautiful apple green color, semi-radial groups of Pyromorphite on both sides of the specimen. The Pyromorphites are beautiful up close, and there is very little in the way of damage. Great quality all around with superb color, luster and form. Valued at $950. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10957). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
