Item Description

A very hard to find Tetrahedrite specimen from the little known Pulacayo Mine in Bolivia. I could only find one other piece of this material for reference, and it was dated from 1925, so it's likely that this piece is from the same time period, as it comes with an old hand written label in French. Sharp, well-formed, silvery-grey colored tetrahedral crystal of Tetrahedrite measuring up to 5 mm across sit atop a matrix of Quartz and Pyrite. Good condition overall, and a nice reference piece for anybody who collects sulfides, Bolivian minerals or copper-bearing species. Ex Kay Robertson Collection. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
