Item Description

Matrix specimens of Kyanite are not terribly easy to obtain, especially stark blue crystals on a pleasing contrasting matrix like this. Sharp, well-formed, gemmy, rich royal blue prisms of Kyanite measuring up to 3.0 cm are mixed among lovely mint green Fuchsite Mica (chrome-bearing) on matrix. The start difference of the rich blue Kyanites against the Fuchsite makes for such a pleasing and eye-catching effect. I have never seen Kyanites from any other locality with such a beautiful color combination. Classic material from Borisovskie Sopki and very hard to find on the market. These came out easily 20+ years ago. This specimen is from the collection of Dennis Uridil with an old Rocksmiths label (erroneously labeled as coming from the Kola Peninsula instead of the Urals).
