Item Description

A classic and really showy display piece of this classic association from one of the most well known mining districts in England. Dozens of very sharp and lustrous, gemmy to translucent, very slightly smoky color Quartz crystals with the well-known doubly-termianted bi-pyramidal habit are the host for brilliant metallic silvery Hematite (variety "Specularite") "rosettes". The Hematite shows a hollow botryoidal form on the underside of the specimen. The largest Quartz crystal measures 1.2 cm. Hard to find on the market today, especially in such good condition with excellent displayability. There are some nicks here and there, but overall the piece is in good shape. From the collection of John Arnaud, formerly of Westcliffe, Colorado.
