Item Description

Smithsonite from Tsumeb is found in virtually every color of the rainbow, and it remains on the most prolific species from this most significant locality. This specimen shows a lovely golden-yellow color which could be caused by the presence of cadmium. The crystals (which measure up to 5 mm) have a lovely silky luster and there is virtually no real damage to speak of. A very attractive specimen, and great quality for the material. Tsumeb specimens are rising in value by the minute it seems, and pieces like this are scooped up by collectors as quick as they are offered on the market.
