Item Description

This piece comes from the lesser known Poreniver Mine in Nevada and features what I believe to be either Grossular or Andradite (possibly from a calc-silicate deposit) with minor "rosettes" of Clinochlore and Quartz on matrix. The crystals measure up to 7 mm and are predominantly dodecahedral in habit with minor trapezohedral modifications. There are some well-formed Garnets with smooth lustrous faces, and a rich reddish-brown hue. More of a reference specimen, but an interesting piece of something that is not often seen on the market.
