Item Description

A classic specimen of the most famous Rhodochrosites in the world. The Sweet Home Mine is one of the most iconic localities extant due to its production of the finest quality red rhombic Rhodochrosite in the world. This piece is from the early mining done by Collector's Edge featuring fine sharp, lustrous, gemmy, beautiful pinkish-red colored rhombs of Rhodochrosite associated with white "needle" Quartz, a tiny bit of purple Fluorite and sulfides (Sphalerite, Tetrahedrite and Pyrite) on matrix. The crystals are well-isolated and the main crystal - which measures 1.5 cm - appears to be damage free to the naked eye. Several of the smaller crystals are pristine, though there are some contacted crystals here and there. I don't have to tell you that the value of these specimens keeps rising, and are still some of the most sought after and desirable specimens on the market. Valued in the inventory at $5,500.
