Item Description

These Manganese-bearing Vesuvianite crystals are rather vibrant with an intense reddish-violet color. This attractive thumbnail specimen features a predominant prismatic crystal with the classic reddish-violet color at the termination, and a soft white color througout the rest of the prism. A smaller sidecar crystal can be seen as well. The piece has good luster and form with this attractive color combo. The Jeffrey Quarry is now completely defunct and these amazing Vesuvianite specimens are no longer being found. From the collection of Charlie Key. Charlie is one of the most prolific mineral dealers in the history of the business and is the namesake for two species: Keyite and Ludlockite.
