Item Description

Lindgrenite is a rare copper molybdate that is only found in a few countries around the world. The first specimens were found in 1935 at the Chuquicamata Mine in Chile and this piece is a great example of the material from the type locality. Chuquicamata produced the finest examples of the species known. The piece features fine, sharp micro crystals with the typically strong green color. When backlit, the color comes through. An unknown, complimentary blue mineral can be seen as well. A cool rarity for any secondary ore collector, or a copper species collector. This is the only piece of the material that we have to offer right now, and comes with a classic label from Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value.
