Gem, pretty pistachio-green, demantoid andradite garnet dodecahedrons, to 3 mm, are richly peppered on the mounded asbestos matrix on this showy and excellent thumbnail classic from the famous Malenco Valleuy. A fine thumbnail with sharp gemmy crystals and rich color. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 5564 and acquired in the mid to late-1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
