Item Description

Scintillating, gemmy, golden-yellow, terminated, elongated, hexgonal, mimetite microcrystals are preferentially festooned on one end of this impressive and sculptural large calcite specimen from the famous mines at Santa Eulalia. Some of the mimetites are preferentially coated or included with brown oxides, adding color contrast and character. Intergrown stacked clusters of glassy, highy lustrous, translucent, colorless to light brown calcite rhombs have a striking arborescent look on all four of the fine and dramatic presentation faces. The attachment is at the base or back of the piece. An outstanding, essentially pristine large combination with only minimal periphery wear from the Paul Zerfass Collection. Combination calcite and mimetites of this large size, richness and striking quality are very uncommon from here.
