Item Description

An adorable and VERY RARE thumbnail pseudomorph from this well-known extinct Arizona surface and underground Cu-Ag-Au-Pb-Zn-Mo-Ti-Rhodium mine. Azurite and malachite are VERY RARE from here. A superlative butterfly-shaped pair of parallel-growth azurite blades has been replaced by malachite and have a beautiful blue-green chrysocolla coating. Complete all-around and pristine. This is a superb, pristine and rare combination pseudo from the Bagdad Mine. RARE and very cute older material from the Willard Perkin collection or dealer stock (note the label on his TN box). He is generally credited as the inventor of the "Perky box" for standard thumbnails display. Ex Kay Robertson Collection. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). Valued at $300-400. A MUST for the locality or species collector!
