Item Description

Classic, very rich and showy large two-sided pyromorphite from this famous Broken Hill Mine. Lustrous, translucent, two-toned brown tapered spindles densely cover the sculptural thin manganese oxide crust on the front and are scattered on the back. One edge hosts an attractive cluster of larger, blocky second generation prisms, to 1.3 cm. There are very few broken crystals on the front, for all the crystal density and the two noted matrix contacts here are certainly only modest detractions to this classic and rich example from Broken Hill.
