Item Description

A classic and showy large combination from the famous Lengenbach Quarry. A 1.0 cm doubly terminated red realgar crystal is aesthetically set in a well-placed vug. Flanked on the left is a rare 2 mm, striated silver-metallic jordanite crystal (rare sulfosalt - Type Locality) and a hard-to-see, glassy transparent colorless, 1.2 cm butterfly-twinned dolomite crystal. The sculptural matrix of sugary dolomite hosts typical veinlets and pods of sparkly pyrite microcrystals, adding pizzazz. An excellent and colorful large combination from the Kay Robertson Collection # 12275 and acquired from Gerald Clark at the 1990 Denver Show. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
