Item Description

Two generations of pyromorphite cover the hefty mounded matrix on this rich and showy specimen self-collected by Paul Zerfass from the famous Les Farges Mine. Larger, lustrous and translucent, burnt-orange, hexagonal prisms, to about 7 mm and some with hoppered terminations, richly and attractively cover the earlier generation of sprays of cute smaller, gemmy and lustrous, yellow-green tapered spindles. A couple areas of noted bruising are certainly only a modest detraction to this showy and rich example from this noted locale, famed for diverse pyromorphite crystal forms and colors.
