Item Description

A spectacular and rare large quartz and calcite combination from an unknown mine in the famous Santa Eulalia District. Sprays of transparent to frosted quartz crystals dramatically project outward in all directions from the mounded matrix covered with an earlier generation of smaller quartz points. Individual crystals reach 4.5 cm and the fabulous "cross" cluster on the side, with the largest crystal, is 6.5 x 4.5 cm. Some of the quartz crystals are SCEPTERED and CURVED (rare), adding much pizzazz. The piece is artistically and richly peppered with clusters of sparkly, chocolate-brown, hematite-infused, tabular hexagonal calcite rhombs adding even more contrast and color. Complete all-around and in great shape for the size and crystal richness. Scattered broken quartz points are noted, but certainly have minimal impact to this most sculptural large piece. A fantastic and rare large 360-degree combination from the Dr. Barratt Phillips Collection.
