Item Description

Very rich and sculptural pyromorphite on barite from this famed locale. All sides of the massive barite matrix are covered with several generations and habits of pyromorphite. The striking large vug is highlighted by the dramatically hoppered 1.3 cm crystal and sharp hexagoal brown prisms, to 8 mm, with the desirable mustard-yellow terminations. Le Farges is one of the world's great pyromorphite localities and this if a fine and rich combination example with several crystal varieties from the Paul Zerfass Collection. The December, 2009 issue of the French periodical, Le Regne Mineral, is devoted entirely to this noted locale and is filled with photgraphs of fabulous Les Farges pyromorphites.
