Large pocket w/ Stilbite, Heulandite & Quartz (George Feist Coll.)

Item Description

Wow! This dramatic piece is a large natural vug formed from a lava bubble. It was pulled out of the surrounding basalt host rock intact. The vug is lined with quartz on which over a dozen salmon-pink stilbite crystals, to 4.8 cm, have formed, along with several striking rusty-red heulandites, to 6.1 cm. The crystal isolation is remarkable. This is an outstanding, large and showy combination specimen, valued for size and aesthetics at $1750-2000.
