Item Description

Old, rare, dramatic and sculptural small cabinet combination from an unknown Minas Gerais pegmatite. A 5.8 cm, gemmy/translucent, bottle-green tourmaline crystal is strikingly attached to a RARE tabular, gem, doubly terminated quartz crystal. The tourmaline is technically doubly terminated, as the broad end is healed and the chisel end is partially terminated. The back of the tourmaline is contacted, but there is no damage, per se. The 3.0 cm gem green tourmaline embedded in the side of the quartz crystal and two generations of lepidolites crystals, pretty lilac and tan, are super accessories. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 3489 and acquired in the mid-1960s. Her label was lost during the move. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). A RARE, old and fantastic looking 360-degree combination from Minas Gerais.
