Item Description

Classic, lustrous, translucent, blood-red cuprite crystals, to 3 mm, are richly and aesthetically clustered on both sides of the sculptural solid matrix of densely intergrown sharp tetrahexahedral and spinel-twinned copper crystals with a bright patina. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 670 and acquired from prominent fellow California collector, Marion Godshaw, in the early 1950s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Classic and fine Bisbee copper with cuprite with sharp copper crystals.
