Item Description

A beautiful and striking 8.3 cm doubly terminated and twinned calcite crystal is dramatically perched on a bladed barite ball from the much less well-known Cumberland Mine near the renowned Elmwood Mine. The different gem terminations with richer golden-amber color highlight the glassy and lustrous amber translucent body. A real subtle bonus, is that the barite is festooned with tiny gem mostly colorless fluorite cubes with light purple tinting. Complete all-around and essentially pristine. The single calcite termination is pristine and it hard to see, that the double terminations have trivial bruising. An outstanding and aesthetic combination from this mine, that displays beautifully from either side. Mineral specimens are RARE from here, compared to the Elmwood Mine! Valued at $1250-1500.
