Item Description

An impressive, large, lustrous and translucent pretty green fluorite cube has striking, well-defined, frosted stepped-growth faces. Rust-red iron oxides preferentially included in some faces are a colorful and remarkable accent. Scattered modest bruising is certainy only a modest detraction to this fine large crystal. Purple fluorescence. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 3232 and acquired in the mid-1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). A fine large fluorite cube from this well-known extinct mine in a famous and historic German lead-fluorite mining district. Specimens are uncommon from this mine.
