A brilliant luster, razor-sharp, pristine, metallic pale golden color, 2.4 x 2.3 x 2.1 cm, pyrite cube is dramatically set on the sculptural marl matrix. Pyrites from Navajun are one of the most easily recognizeable and abundant display specimens in the world. They are highly attractive, and arguably the finest crystallized representations of the species. This locality is mined almost exclusively for its pyrite crystals, which are world famous and well known among collectors. Note that in the process of excavation, most such crystal clusters come apart come apart from the matrix and are thus reassembled (as is the case on this piece). This is a high quality matrix specimen in this size range for a representative specimen good enough for any collection! It displays well in any orientation! Natural Cubist art. Impressive.
