Item Description

An impressive, rare and outstanding combination from the well-known tin-tungsten deposit, worked until 1990. Aesthetically intergrown glassy, terminated quartz crystals, to 7.0 cm, are richly and dramatically peppered with starkly contrasting dark purple fluorite cubes, to 3 mm. A fine contrasting accessory are the sharp brown siderite rhombs, to 9 mm. The back side of this striking two-sided piece is covered with more siderite rhombs and fluorite cubes, as a surprising fine bonus. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 2902 and acquired from Scott Williams at the Southwest Show in 1963. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). An exceptional, sculptural and RARE two-sided combination from this locale with multiple display views.
