Item Description

Dramatically intergrown, lustrous, translucent, bone-white gypsum replacing large sharp flattening prismatic glauberite crystals forms a very sculptural pseudomorph from famous Camp Verde. Glauberite is a rare Na-Ca sulfate and this ancient salt-clay-gypsum mining area is famous for such unusual pseudomorphs. Calcite also pseudomorphs glauberite from here. In good shape, overall. Two edges on the basal doubly terminated crystal are dinged, but are certainly only a modest detraction to this very showy piece. Acceptable for such a soft mineral. This artistic piece has multiple display views.
