Item Description

Fluorapatite and apatite are EXTREMELY RARE from this famous locale, source of North America's finest emerald specimens. This rare and outstanding two-sided combination features rich clusters and isolated single crystals of gemmy, tabular, hexagonal, included, purplish-gray apatite crystals aesthetically attached on both sides of the large, highly lustrous, pearlescent muscovite plates. The apatites are up to 1.0 cm. Formerly in the collection of Terry Ledford, well-known North Carolina specimen miner and mineral dealer, who died tragically in an emerald mining accident in 2014. See his biography in the Mineralogical Record Biographical Archive: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1774. Value of this possibly UNIQUE apatite and muscovite rarity? A MUST for the locality or species collector!
